Through physical relaxation and imagery that incorporate all of your senses, Guided Relaxation encourages you to reconnect with your body in a way that gives you awareness of where you holding stress, tension and tightness, and the opportunity to relax, releasing all that is stored in these areas. Sometimes we may also release emotion as well – thus the expression “the issues are in the tissues.”
With practice, we are better able to identify when we are stressed and our responses to it. We can become aware of how our thoughts and self-talk affect/create our current reality – this in itself gives us a feeling of control, which helps us feel better and is associated with higher self-esteem and energy levels, a brighter outlook on life, and reduced stress.
